  • RoHS Directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)

 

The Directive R.O.H.S. (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) sets limits on the use of certain hazardous materials in new electrical and electronic equipment by establishing maximum tolerated values ​​in order to contribute to the protection of human health and the environment, including the recovery and the ecologically correct disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment(AEE).

The latest amendment to Annex III of the RoHS Directive, specifically provides the following restrictions:

• 0.1% by weight of Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent Chromium, Polybrominated Biphenyls

(PBB), Polybrominated Dephenyl Ether (PBDE), Bis(2-ethylhexyl) Phthalate (DEHP), Benzylbutylphthalate (BBP), Dibutylphthalate (DBP), Disobutylphthalate (DIBP);

• 0.01% by weight of Cadmium (Cd).

• 0.7% by weight of hexavalent Chromium used as an anti-corrosion agent in the working fluid of the sealed carbon steel circuit of gas-operated absorption heat pumps for space and water heating
